HOMO is a simple idea, not a software platform or packet of forms: define what is truly shared, pay for the real work, make the cost visible, and refuse to turn private taste into public business.

Shared means shared
A road, light, drainage system, entrance, or common area can justify coordinated work. A personal preference does not.

Scope stays narrow
The group gets only the authority needed for the shared job. No recreational expansion into private life.

People should be able to understand what the work costs and why.

Decisions stay proportional
Routine maintenance should be routine. Big changes deserve real notice and participation.

HOAs want to know every addition or change to your property. With HOMO, it’s don’t ask, don’t tell. Lawful home life is not a filing category.

How a neighborhood gets there
Some places can narrow the current HOA. Some may organize only a specific voluntary service. Some may explore replacement or dissolution. The path depends on what already exists and what has to continue the day after a change.

Is HOMO anti-maintenance?
No. Neglected shared property is not freedom. The point is competent shared work with boundaries.
Does HOMO enforce private rules?
No national HOMO organization enforces neighborhood rules. The project argues for the least authority necessary to handle genuinely shared work.
Is this a legal structure?
No single legal structure is created by this site. Local circumstances and law determine what arrangements are available.
